On this page, you will find a detailed explanation of the procedure for applying for a Reporting ID for BICS. The steps are described step by step below.
1. Create a Rijkswaterstaat Maritime Account
Before you can apply for a Reporting ID, you first need to create a Rijkswaterstaat Maritime Account. You can do this via this link. A Rijkswaterstaat Maritime Account is required to access various services provided by Rijkswaterstaat, including BICS. If you already have an account for Lock Scheduler or Vaarweginformatie, you can also use that as a Rijkswaterstaat Maritime Account.
After creating your account, you will receive an email with a link to activate your account.
If you have forgotten the password for your Rijkswaterstaat Maritime Account, you can reset it via this link.
2. Apply for a Reporting ID
Once your Rijkswaterstaat Maritime Account is activated, you can apply for a Reporting ID for BICS via this link.
Note: You cannot apply for a Reporting ID without an activated Rijkswaterstaat Maritime Account. Applications with an invalid account will be rejected.
If you have forgotten your username for the Rijkswaterstaat Maritime Account, you can also enter the email address that your account is registered with. Rijkswaterstaat will then link the correct account to your application.
After submitting your application, you will receive a confirmation email at the provided email address. Rijkswaterstaat will process your application and create the Reporting ID. This may take up to 5 working days, so please make sure to submit your application in time.
3. Receive the Welcome Letter
After your Reporting ID is created, you will receive an email with the BICS Welcome Letter. This letter contains your account details and further instructions for downloading and setting up BICS on your device.
